One day I might be writing about self-hosting a server, troubleshooting technology, or building a computer. Another day I might be covering an urban legend, reviewing a product, sharing a helpful guide, or discussing a hobby I&#8217;ve recently picked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The common thread isn&#8217;t the topic\u2014it&#8217;s curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it&#8217;s useful, interesting, entertaining, practical, or simply worth talking about, there&#8217;s a good chance it may eventually find its way onto this site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_New_Selective_Splurging\"><\/span>What&#8217;s New: Selective Splurging<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>New for 2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the newest additions to the site is a recurring series called Selective Splurging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These monthly articles focus on products, gadgets, comfort items, gifts, and everyday upgrades that genuinely seem worth considering. The goal isn&#8217;t to encourage mindless spending. Instead, it&#8217;s about finding those occasional purchases that add a little comfort, convenience, fun, or enjoyment to everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll find everything from budget-friendly discoveries to premium &#8220;treat yourself&#8221; items, along with the occasional weird or unexpected find that simply looked too interesting not to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This section is still growing, and I&#8217;m looking forward to seeing where it goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Recommendations_Support_Work\"><\/span>How Recommendations &amp; Support Work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many websites rely heavily on display ads, pop-ups, autoplay videos, and other distractions to generate revenue. Personally, I&#8217;ve never enjoyed browsing sites packed with ads, and I don&#8217;t want to create that experience for readers here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, I choose to keep things relatively clean and rely primarily on affiliate links and reader support to help keep the site running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I recommend a product, it&#8217;s because it genuinely seemed useful, interesting, fun, practical, or simply worth sharing. If you decide to purchase something through one of those links, a small commission may be earned at no additional cost to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a way, it&#8217;s a simple trade-off. You get articles without pages of ads competing for your attention, and the site gets a little support when readers find something they were already interested in purchasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Affiliate links help keep the lights on around here, but they never determine what gets recommended.
